The Sanwei Gear Hyper is a hybrid offensive rubber that combines a grippy, semi-tacky topsheet with a small-pore cake sponge to deliver high friction, lively rebound, and excellent forgiveness. Using GEAR NANO and RF friction-enhancement technologies, the topsheet–sponge integration boosts bite on the ball so you can loop actively or defend passively with confidence.

Gear Hyper comes in two variants distinguished by packaging and sponge feel:

Silver Gear (Medium-Soft) – Uses a small-pore cake sponge tuned for control and feel. It offers easy spin engagement, longer dwell, and a high on-table success rate—great for safe openings, steady blocks, and controlled counters.
Black Gear (Medium-Hard, Carbon Cake Sponge) – Adds carbon reinforcement in the small-pore cake sponge for stronger support, higher speed, and greater power while maintaining excellent friction. Ideal for aggressive loop-drives and fast counters.
